German Crescent Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) butter room temperature
⅓ cup sugar
cup almonds, ground fine in food processor
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ⅔  cups flour
Confections sugar

Directions

  • Mix together butter, sugar, almonds and salt
  • Using your hands or dough hook, mix in flour
  • Chill for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator
  • Preheat the oven to 375º
  • Roll small pieces of dough into pencil type strips and place on cookie sheet
  • Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown
  • Place cookies on paper towels and allow to cool for at least one hour
  • Lightly sprinkle with confectioners sugar
